Dogs are allowed in the Gunwharf Quays complex. but not into individual stores. There is nowhere to tether dogs outside shops.
We have been asked several times about eating establishments in the centre which allow dogs. After contacting the restaurants we have found that Coast 2 Coast allow dogs in their outside area, some of which is under cover. There are also several takeaway cafes and restaurants serving salads, sandwiches and pasties.
A Bar allow dogs in the bar or outside seating area, and several members have told us that their dogs have been allowed in Cafe Nero.
We had a great day out at GunWharf and took our very small dog. He loved it! it was great that he was able to join us as we had travelled quite a distance and would not have wanted to leave him at home. He walked around the complex quite happily. All the staff were really friendly. My husband and I along with the Kids did shifts of popping in and of the shops! He loved it on the quay and all the attention he received. The experience would have been 5 star if there was an ‘eatery’ that we have could have taken him into.
Thanks for your comment Jody. We will look into some dog friendly places to eat near the centre and add them to the site.
Did you manage to find any dog friendly eating places in Gunwharf Quays? Thank you
We haven’t found anywhere that lets dogs inside yet, although there are some takeaway options such as Pasty Presto, Subway and Pret a Manger. We will keep looking!
Coast 2 Coast have confirmed that dogs are welcome in their outside seating area, some of which is undercover.
I’m going to take my dog tommorow
Great – we’d love to hear how you get on!
Most of the restaurant s are fine with dogs In the outside bits. ABar a few 100m away is fine with them in the bar. All the pubs around spice island are dog friendly it’s a 10 min walk away around the sea front
Cafe Nero let’s dogs in 🙂
The A bar bistro just outside of gunwharf Quays allow dogs in their outside seating area and inside in the bar area, they are part of Camber wines and serve food,it is opposite the fish market and the entrance to to Wight link Ferries . There is metered parking and a pay and display car park outside you can walk through Gunwharf to get to this bar. Spice Island in Old Portsmouth also has 2 pubs that allow dogs outside.
Me and my partner had looked for a place in Gunwharf and we found that the Old Customs House do allows dogs inside, okay we were seated as soon as you walk in, but so much easier when it’s blowing a gale outside, they catered for them too! Very great staff.
Some of the shops at Gunwharf allow dogs in if they see them and one owner waiting outside (I have experienced this!), and I believe all White Stuff branches are dog friendly.
Some shops allowed us in. Osprey are super friendly. The only eating place we were allowed in (bar area) was Fuller Smith & Turner.
