17th March 2019 – Machinery in Steam – Combe Mill, Witney, Oxfordshire

Combe Mill Steaming Days offer visitors a unique and special day out for all the family including the dog. Interactive, fun and educational for the kids and adults alike. We have a Cornish Boiler, Beam Engine and water wheel to name a few of the attractions plus an extraordinary opportunity to have a go at blacksmithing where you can get hands on. There is a find Millie the mill cat trail for the little ones. The volunteers have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are on hand to explain and answer questions. Also there is a bit of shopping, homemade cakes and tea at the tearoom and a lush meadow on the banks of the River Evenlode to picnic, where you might spot our local otter if you are lucky.

Trip Advisor comments include: “A real Hidden Gem” “Great day out – great value and lovely people” – why not come and find out for yourself
The mill near the village of Combe is a Grade II* Listed Building in the heart of the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Part of the Blenheim Palace Estate the building was once a working sawmill and workshop and is now the home of our industrial museum.

Steaming Days are the third Sunday of the month, March to October, and we are also open as museum at work though not in steam on every Wednesdays and the first Sunday of the month
