Gunwharf Quays Outlet Shopping Centre

Shopping complex with a variety of shops and restaurants.

Dogs are allowed in the Gunwharf Quays complex, and into some shops, but not inside all stores.  White Company and Osprey are both dog friendly.

They are allowed inside some cafes and restaruants, and there are also several takeaway cafes and restaurants serving salads, sandwiches and pasties.

Several of our visitors have told us that their dogs have been allowed in Cafe Nero, Fuller Smith & Turner, The Old Customs House and A bar.

We had a great day out at GunWharf and took our very small dog. He loved it! it was great that he was able to join us as we had travelled quite a distance and would not have wanted to leave him at home. He walked around the complex quite happily. All the staff were really friendly. My husband and I along with the Kids did shifts of popping in and of the shops! He loved it on the quay and all the attention he received. The experience would have been 5 star if there was an ‘eatery’ that we have could have taken him into.

Thanks for your comment Jody. We will look into some dog friendly places to eat near the centre and add them to the site.

We haven’t found anywhere that lets dogs inside yet, although there are some takeaway options such as Pasty Presto, Subway and Pret a Manger. We will keep looking!

FEED, which is just outside GUNWHARF QUAYS towards Portsmouth Harbour train station, is dog friendly both inside and out.

They do everything from breakfasts, burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes, coffee and beers.

Coast 2 Coast have confirmed that dogs are welcome in their outside seating area, some of which is undercover.

Most of the restaurant s are fine with dogs In the outside bits. ABar a few 100m away is fine with them in the bar. All the pubs around spice island are dog friendly it’s a 10 min walk away around the sea front

The A bar bistro just outside of gunwharf Quays allow dogs in their outside seating area and inside in the bar area, they are part of Camber wines and serve food,it is opposite the fish market and the entrance to to Wight link Ferries . There is metered parking and a pay and display car park outside you can walk through Gunwharf to get to this bar. Spice Island in Old Portsmouth also has 2 pubs that allow dogs outside.

Me and my partner had looked for a place in Gunwharf and we found that the Old Customs House do allows dogs inside, okay we were seated as soon as you walk in, but so much easier when it’s blowing a gale outside, they catered for them too! Very great staff.

Some of the shops at Gunwharf allow dogs in if they see them and one owner waiting outside (I have experienced this!), and I believe all White Stuff branches are dog friendly.

Some shops allowed us in. Osprey are super friendly. The only eating place we were allowed in (bar area) was Fuller Smith & Turner.

Obviously dogs can be in the outside seating areas of cafes – what else could you do with them? ! In France they are not so picky about dogs in restaurants/cafes. Children, on the other hand, make a mess, are noisy and often run riot. Give me dogs any day!
